There are a number of Excel spreadsheet to HTML converters out there; how does LiveWebs compare with them?

Broadly speaking most of them just offer the simple ability to convert a bunch of cells into an HTML table. They mostly have all of the limitations of Excel 97's web publishing and more besides.

We believe that LiveWebs is by far the best producer of HTML pages from Excel spreadsheets, with the important exception of Excel 2000, and that a few minutes with the evaluation version will quickly convince you of that.

In particular, none we have come across offer the LiveWebs Markets functionality of being able to convert automatically at timed intervals.

In summary, LiveWebs offers the following much more complete capabilities than just producing a bit of vanilla HTML code (as detailed in the Overview):

bulletfaithful conversion (LiveWebs Cell Merger Algorithm, correct positioning and space allocation for graphs etc)
bulletnavigational structure (LiveWebs automatic navigation bars for  thematically related material)
bulletlimited formatting control (global font scaling, table widths etc)
bulletautomatic file transport (FTP/network)
bulletmulti-tabbed Dialog Box interface for efficient management
